Title: Case Manager I

Location: Springfield, MO
Required Experience: One year child welfare experience preferred

Hours per Week: Full-time

Degree Type/Area: Bachelor's or master's degree in social work or related field required.
Description:
This position provides direct casework, counseling and mental health services to children and families within agency's policies and program context, utilizing human service principals in developing relationships, making assessments and developing service plans. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Internet applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provides in-home services to identify service needs, assess child and family safety, develop treatment plans, and provide services to meet family and child needs.
- Be accessible to families 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
- Provides crisis intervention services based upon need.
- Arranges for and/or provides transportation for families for school appointments, medical appointments, etc.
- Refers/links families to necessary resources to meet needs. Basic mental health needs are inclusive.
- Identifies and removes barriers that prevent children from remaining in the home and/or to returning to the home.
- Participates in Court proceedings on behalf of the child and family. This includes testimony at hearings, compiling court reports and preparing case records.
- Assists families in locating employment, housing, day care and assistance with meeting basic needs.
- Provides supervision of visits on behalf of children and families.
- Other duties as assigned.
