The CARE program provides residential and day treatment services to 18 abused and neglected boys. There are two homes, one for 8-9 youth ages 12-15, and the other for 8-9 youth ages 15-18. There is one current opening in each home. Positions provide direct care and intervention via the use of the Teaching Family Model to teach youth social skills required for living in a family setting. This work is very active and challenging, with no two days ever being the same. The best adults for this work are those who truly enjoy teamwork, maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenges, are creative, are willing to continue learning/growing, not easily frightened by mouthy youth and truly enjoy helping with troubled youth.

The youth sometimes need physical intervention in the form of therapeutic restraints by the adults to avoid hurting themselves or others. The boys can be extremely disrespectful, including using profanity and threatening behavior. They are in treatment to learn to manage anger, manage inappropriate sexual impulses, examine emotions related to past abuse/neglect, express emotions appropriately, and overall learn to manage themselves in a family setting again.
