Title: Recreation Therapist
Post Date: May 27, 2008
Location: Lake Villa, Ill.
Required Experience: Experience with abused/neglected youth.

Degree Type/Area: Bachelor's Degree, CTRS strongly preferred.
Description:
Position works with the CARE residential and day treatment program in Lake Villa, Ill., which provides programming for young men ages 12-17 referred primarily from DCFS. This position provides varied recreation therapy services to the young men to aid in addressing treatment issues and transitioning to a less restrictive environment. The services are provided via group and individual modalities. This is a very active position and requires a person who enjoys a fast pace and varied approach to working with various youth in conjunction with staff teams. Ability to engage non-voluntary clients necessary. Excellent organizational and communication skills are a must./p>
Specific Responsibilities:
- Individual and group recreation therapy for a minimum of 25 youth.
- Help bring therapeutic perspective to teams.
- Coordinate with treatment teams on treatment goals for youth.
- Documentation of services.
- Coordination of special events (holiday parties, outings, physical education, adventure programming, etc.).
