Title: Case Manager I
Post Date: March 13, 2007
Location: Joliet, Ill.
Required Experience: Two years related experience
Salary: Competitive salary and a complete benefit package, including health, dental and life insurance; significant paid time off; tuition reimbursement; and a generous match to the 403(b) plan.
Hours per Week: Full-time
Start Date: Immediate
Degree Type/Area: Bachelor's degree in social work or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
Description:
This position will work with children and families dealing with issues of abuse and neglect. Services are home-based and are geared to provide direct services and community resource links.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Screens new referrals within 24 hours.
- Develops strength-based assessment and service plan.
- Provides 24-hour, 7-day-a-week pager coverage and crisis intervention.
- Implements service plan to address and modify concerns of abuse and neglect.
- Teaches basic coping and life skills, such as parenting, budgeting, communication and problem-solving.
- Links families to appropriate resources.
Desired Skills:
- Strong writing skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Ability to form a therapeutic alliance with families.
- Ability to work with resistant families.
- Ability to use confrontation when necessary to produce change.
- Ability to teach basic coping and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to teach parenting skills.
