Title: Business Manager
Post Date: March 13, 2008
Location: Chicago, Ill.
Required Experience: Three years experience in accounting required, with one year of supervisory experience.
Salary: Competitive salary and a complete benefits package, including health, dental and life insurance; significant paid time off; tuition reimbursement; and a generous match to the 403(b) plan.

Degree Type/Area: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration required. CPA preferred.
Description:
This position oversees an entire partner's financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing and billing. Must be proficient in Excel with knowledge of Great Planes applications. Strong understanding of accounting principles, ability to analyze financial data and communicate results to management effectively required.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Manages and oversees equipment leases, and recommends increased efficiencies.
- Responsible for the integrity of partner/departmental financial statements.
- Prepares proposal and contract budgets in partnership with program staff.
- Adheres to or institutes internal controls to ensure accurate timely financial reporting.
- Performs certain federation-wide accounting tasks as delegated to this position.
- Prepares financial and operational analyses as required to ensure or improve financial operations.
- Assists with analyses of financial operations for local or federation board or staff information or action.
- Participates in the development and management of compliance processes.
- Supervises business department staff.
- Prepares financial reports and maintains relationship with funders to ensure compliance with their financial reporting and other financial-related requirements.
- Assists with internal and external audits as required.
