Title: Mental Health Therapist
Post Date: May 8, 2008
Location: South Miami, Fla.
Required Experience: Two years of professional experience providing services to persons with behavioral illness

Degree Type/Area: Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology or related human services field required
Description:
This position provides assessment and treatment to clients, crisis services internally and to groups in the Community Mental Health Services. Position provides group and individual substance abuse/mental health treatment/preventative services, maintains statistical data and provides timely reports on assigned client caseload. Position is responsible for the delivery of quality services, including serving as a liaison with relevant community agencies. Must have an understanding of the court system, report writing, be highly organized and detailed-oriented. Familiarity with Medicaid billing a plus. Flexible and adaptable to changing systems and cultural sensitivity needed. Bilingual preferred.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Develops collaborative relationships with staff and other programs outside the agency.
- Monitors client progress and periodically reassesses client level of functioning as required utilizing standard clinical instruments.
- Flexibility with schedule to provide the utmost services to clients.
- Demonstrates the highest investment in and commitment to quality improvement practices in order to continuously improve the delivery of services to our clients.
- Maintains client records through clinical documentation that fulfill credentialing requirements of AHCA, COA, HIPAA and KHU policies and procedures.
- Provides individual psychological therapy/counseling.
- Provides mental health services for mild to moderately impaired clients under the supervision of the licensed professional on staff, which includes the development of assessments, treatment planning therapy and evaluation.
- Develops initial treatment plan and revises/modifies the plan as needed, and consults with licensed professional on staff to ensure both treatments are working in tandem.
- Provides crisis intervention during and after business hours.
- Integrates all services provided for the client by serving as the central point of communications for all mental health related services, consulting with team members regarding treatment planning, problems and issues related to the provision of services.
- Works collaboratively with staff and other programs within the agency.
- Bilingual preferred.
