Required Experience: Five years of related experience required

Degree Type/Area: Master's degree in human services or related field from an accredited school required.

Certification: Child Protection Certification preferred.

Description:

This position provides services to children and families. Ability to function well in a team environment and with limited supervision of others required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and strong documentation and presentation skills required. Knowledge of state requirements regarding the Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children needed as well as working knowledge of Florida Administrative Code and Ch. 39. Excellent writing skills a must.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provides in-home services to identify service needs, assess child and family safety, develop treatment plans and provide services to meet family needs.
  • Handles specialized caseload that may include adoptions and/or permanency other special programs.
  • Refers families to resources to meet their needs.
  • Identifies and removes barriers that prevent children from remaining in the home and/or returning home.
  • Participates in court proceedings, including testifying at hearings, compiling court reports and preparing case records.
  • Tracks all ICPC cases.
