Kids Hope United will host an informative workshop on Non-Suicidal Self Injury (NSSI). Presenter and licensed clinical psychologist Leone Legan will teach participants to understand non-suicidal self injury and how it differs from suicidal injury.
Workshop topics will explore:
- Historical and cultural perspectives
- Prevalence
- Suicide and non-suicidal behavior
- Theoretical perspectives
- Attachment theory and NSSI
- Co-morbidity and NSSI
- Internet and NSSI
- Treatment considerations
Leone Legan, Psy.D., provides assessments and treatment to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families at Psychological Asociates in Peoria. She is also a consultant with various child welfare agencies.
Three CEUs will be provided: LSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC.
